We believe strongly in environment protection, and part of our mission is to encourage others to contribute to the cause. We think one of the best ways to do that is through a scholarship.

A Straight Arrow Environment Protection Scholarship Program is an annual scholarship open to young minds who share our passion.

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program (or will be by the time the scholarship is awarded).
  • Have a strong passion for the environment
  • Actively protect the environment. It’s important to note that we are not looking for Al Gore-level of contribution. Every little action matters and no application will be discarded on the basis of the contribution being ”too small”.

Application Process

  • Write a 500 to 1000 word essay on how you are currently contributing to environment protection.
  • Submit your essay as a .docx document to scholarship@astraightarrow.net before the deadline.

When submitting, please don’t forget to include these details:

  • Complete name with address, email and phone number
  • Name of your school
  • Any proof that you are currently enrolled

Evaluation criteria

  • Repeatability of your contribution
  • Originality of both your contribution and essay
  • Creativity of both your contribution and essay

 Deadline & Award

  • Next Deadline: April 30, 2017.
  • Award: $500-$1,500 depending on how many winners are chosen per scholarship period.
  • Winners will be announced by May 31, 2017.
  • Scholarship amount will be wired directly to the winner’s college or university
  • Optional Award: We’ll also happily extend an invitation to write an environment protection piece for our website (this is 100% optional).

Terms And Conditions

  • aStraightArrow reserves the exclusive rights to publish any of the entries it receives.
  • The site will not charge or ask for any fees from any student who wish to join the program.
  • Submitted entries are expected, and should be, duly accomplished by the applicants.
  • Incomplete entries will not be considered and processed
  • Non-English submissions will automatically be rejected.
